Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar has announced that some 116,000 patients have been registered to receive treatment under the program on early detection of liver cancer.
The initiative targets the early diagnosis of four types of cancer.
It is operational through an electronic network system linking health units, medical convoys and hospitals nationwide to facilitate measures before citizens seeking to obtain the service, he added.
The ministry explained that there are at least 14 types of the virus that are responsible for cancer and are called very dangerous viruses.
