Africa Day
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of Africa Day, posted a video on its official Facebook page titled “Egypt and Africa... A Story of Shared Destiny”.
On the occasion of Africa Day, Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, affirmed Egypt’s deep pride in its African identity and its unwavering commitment to supporting fellow African nations, strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise in the fields of water, environment, and climate.
El-Sisi stressed the need for ensuring prudent management of these shared waterways, while adopting an approach anchored in the governance of African rivers.
El-Sisi made the remarks in a speech marking Egypt’s celebration of Africa Day at Cairo University.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's “unwavering commitment” to supporting constructive cooperation and enhancing development and peace efforts across the African continent.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Monday with the African ambassadors in Cairo, as part of Africa Day celebrations.
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry headquarters was illuminated on Wednesday to mark Africa Day, which annually falls on May 25.
On May 25 of each year, African countries celebrate Africa Day.
Egypt will also work on “enhancing joint efforts to resolve the issues and disputes that the continent has suffered from for decades and that have prevented the dreams of the [continent’s] sons from coming true,” Sisi said in a Twitter thread.
During the meeting, both officials discussed ways of cooperation in the field of tourism.
The celebration comes in light of the association’s keenness to communicate with the people of the African continent with its different cultures and ancient civilizations.
The African unity is celebrated annually on Africa Day, which falls on May 25.
Environment Minister Yassmin Fouad met on Wednesday with officials from the World Bank to discuss preparing a project on climate change and air pollution control in Greater Cairo.
Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad said that "the Africa we want" can be reached only via strong and promising youth aware of the importance of the environment.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports hosted the African delegations participating in the Africa Day Festival.
On the occasion of World Day for Africa, the Egyptian Cultural Center in Paris will hold a puppet show at UNESCO headquarters on May 25 at 7:30 pm.
