Egypt’s 2025 Senate election kicked off on Monday and is expected to continue for two days in a row are 4 and 5 August.

The 2025 Senate election has kicked off for Egyptians living abroad and is expected to continue for two days in a row are August 1 and 2. The elections will begin inside Egypt on August 4 and 5.
The panels include Braille instructions for the visually impaired and others for the hearing impaired, enabling them to know the number of candidates in each constituency.
The Senate will comprise 300 members: two-thirds will be elected by direct and secret voting, while the remaining one-third will be appointed by the President. A minimum of 10% of the total seats will be allocated to women.
The NEA announced the official closure of the voter database for the upcoming Senate elections. As of July 1, no changes can be made to the voter roll, except in two specific cases; the implementation of a final court ruling to add or remove a person, or the removal of deceased individuals’ names.
The vote count will start immediately after the ballot closure tonight.
A list with the names of registered voters who did not cast their ballots in the 2020 Senate poll has been referred to the prosecution, and they now risk incurring a LE500 fee or less.
