The mosques and their courtyards were filled with worshippers who had arrived since the early hours of dawn to celebrate the Eid rituals amidst an atmosphere of joy and happiness.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi extended his warmest congratulations to the Egyptian people and the peoples of Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has instructed all relevant government agencies to raise their state of alert to the highest level to handle any potential crises during the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr holiday, amid forecasts of rain and floods in some areas.
Kahk is simply a sweet shortbread biscuit that is eaten in Egypt, primarily to celebrate festive occasions like Eid al-Fitr. Kahk is sometimes served plain, or stuffed with pistachio, nuts or dates.

As the countdown to Eid al-Fitr (Feast of Breaking the Fast) starts, Giza governorate began its preparations for the holiday.
Egyptian Ministry of Interior has decided to grant all inmates of correctional and rehabilitation centers one exceptional visit on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr (The Feast of Breaking the Fast).
The decision applies to employees working in ministries, government departments, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies and public business sector enterprises.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has issued Decision No. 158 of 2025, granting a pardon for the remaining sentences of certain convicts in honor of Eid al-Fitr and Sinai Liberation Day, which will be observed on April 25, 2025.
The Egyptian capital is home to approximately 300 public parks, all of which have opened their doors to citizens for the three-day holiday after undergoing extensive maintenance throughout Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar when Muslims worldwide fast from the dawn to the sunset, and upgrading their facilities to better accommodate the public.

Egyptians celebrated the first day of Eid al-Fitr, Monday, after Dar al-Ifta announced that the Shawwal crescent moon wasn't sighted on March 29.

The convoys include specialties such as internal medicine, pediatrics, otolaryngology (ENT), orthopedics, surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, cardiology, dermatology, obstetrics and gynecology, and family planning services. They also provide radiology and medical laboratory services, as well as referrals for cases requiring surgery to hospitals affiliated with the ministry.
Abbas extended his greetings to Sisi for Eid Al-Fitr, wishing that this occasion brings goodness, prosperity, and blessings to Egypt, Palestine, and the Arab and Islamic nations.
Sunday will mark the final day of Ramadan, with jubilant Eid al-Fitr celebrations scheduled to commence on Monday, lasting for three festive days.
President Sisi exchanged greetings with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Jordanian King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The weather will be warm during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, northern Upper Egypt, and South Sinai, hot in southern Upper Egypt, and cool at night and early morning in most parts of the country.
If the crescent of Shawwal- the tenth month of Islamic Calendar - is sighted this evening, the beginning of the four-day celebrations of Eid Al-Fitr (the Feast of Breaking the Fast) will start on March 30. Meanwhile, it the crescent is not observed, the Eid al-Ftir will start on March 31.
