Interior Minister, security leaders discuss security plans ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations

CAIRO - 18 April 2023: Egyptian Minister of Interior Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq held a meeting with a number of assistants to the minister and security leaders, at the headquarters of the Information and Crisis Management Center at the Ministry of Interior to review the axes of security plans as Eid al-Fitr (Feast of Breaking fast) approaches. 
 
During the meeting, held via video conference technology,  the Minister of Interior expressed his appreciation for the effort made by the policemen in various fields of police work, which resulted in achieving successes and achievements, referring to the state of security stability at all levels despite challenges due to changes taking place in the regional and international arenas.
 
Tawfiq discussed the frameworks for coordination between the various sectors of the ministry, and continuing to intensify efforts to confront any manifestations of deviance from the law, in a way that establishes the data of security and the pillars of stability, confirming The cultural face of the country.
 
He also stressed the need to continue security vigilance and stand on the extent of readiness and the extensive security deployment of the forces to secure all important and vital installations in the country, as well as securing the water surface of the Nile River and securing all means of transportation, in addition to squares, streets, tourist destinations, parks, cinemas, and places where citizens gather.
 
Tawfiq also instructed to intensify traffic campaigns on all highways and axes, fully link with operations rooms, activate the role of checkpoints and border ambushes between the governorates and fixed and mobile stations, as well as intensify the presence of traffic relief vehicles on all roads and axes to provide assistance to citizens.
 
At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Interior stressed the importance of the field presence for all supervisory levels, with the aim of continuous follow-up of the implementation of security plans and highlighting the manifestations of strength, vigilance and seriousness, with an emphasis on taking into account the human dimension in dealing with citizens and decisively addressing everything that affects the security and safety of the homeland and citizens in accordance with legal frameworks.
