CAIRO - 29 January 2021: Famed Egyptian hair stylist and beauty expert Mohamed Al Sagheer passed away on January 29, because of COVID-19.

Al Sagheer’s son-in-law, Egyptian megastar Ahmed el Sakka announced the death of Al Sagheer via his official instagram account.

The legendary hairstylist’s funeral was held at the Sultan Hussein Mosque.

Al Sagheer was transferred to the intensive care unit for treatment few days ago.

Al Sagheer was one of the most prominent beauty experts not only in Egypt but in the Middle East and North Africa as well.

He established a huge beauty empire from the scratch, and was the role model and the professor for generations of Egyptian and Arab beauticians, cosmetologists and hair stylists. 

He debuted his career as a hair stylist in 1960.

 

He narrated that he was too fond of hair styling that’s why he dropped out of school. 

In 1971 he travelled France to work with famed French hair stylist Louis Alexandre Raimon, better known as Alexandre de Paris.

Throughout his career, Al Sagheer has worked with the biggest names in art  and culture field such as Yousra, Laila Eloui, Elham Shahine, Mona Zaki, Hend Sabry, Samira Said  and legendary Egyptian actress Faten Hamama.

He worked with international stars as well such as Sophia Loren and Claudia Schiffer.

Many celebrities were keen to mourn Al Sagheer on social media such as Yousra, Laila Eloui, Elham Shahine, Hend Sabry, Lekaa Elkhamissi, Abeer Sabry, Dana Hemdan, Samira Said, Ayten Amer among others.

The relationship between the late great beauty expert and the Egyptian and Arab celebrities was not just a work relationship, he was the friend, supporter and brother to most of them.

Egyptian and Arab stars described Al Sagheer with the great man who used to have their back.

“ My great and friend and brother Mohamed Al Sagheer has passed away, words can’t describe you, you were great on both the personal and professional level.. I will miss you a lot” Yousra stated on her official Instagram account.

“ Today I lost a precious, kind and generous friend who used to stand beside his friends in all their good and bad situations, I will miss him a lot”
