“You have the whole Trump peace plan based on mutual commitments and responsibilities from the two sides. So, we have to focus on that and we have to push for that,” Abdelatty said during an interview with CNN host Christiane Amanpour.
Abdelatty said Israeli attacks on Arab countries, including in Lebanon, as well as its assaults in the West Bank and Gaza are affecting these relations.
Asked by CNN host Christiane Amanpour about Israeli statements rejecting Palestinian statehood and threatening broader military action in the region, Abdelatty said “I can assure you it will not bring peace and stability and security for Israel.”
The measure, introduced by Egypt on behalf of the Islamic group at the UN, won the support of 164 member states.
Abdelatty stressed that maintaining the territorial integrity of Palestinian lands is a fundamental pillar for any fair, lasting, and comprehensive peace, and emphasized that a two-state solution remains the only viable path to regional stability.
the United States, Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Jordan, and Türkiye issued a statement calling for the “swift adoption” of this resolution.
As they held a meeting on Thursday on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, the two leaders agreed to continue cooperation to prevent violations in the West Bank, and support the process of establishing an independent Palestinian state to ensure security and stability for all peoples in the region.
