Cairo Weather
Two weeks ahead of winter, the authority said cold early mornings and mild afternoons will prevail nationwide, with Greater Cairo expected to record a high of 20 degrees Celsius on Sunday and Monday.
While the actual temperatures show a mild cooling trend, humidity levels remain elevated, causing the heat to feel more intense, especially during mornings and evenings.e
According to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), a slight and temporary rise in temperatures will affect most parts of the country on Saturday and Sunday.
The EMA predicts extremely hot and humid weather nationwide during the day, with hot and humid conditions along the North Coast and warm temperatures during the night and early morning.
No relief from the heat is in sight until Sunday.
Fortunately, this heat spell is expected to be short-lived, fading out by Tuesday across all areas.
Temperatures even surpassed the 40-mark in Upper Egypt, with the southern areas –home to the charming Luxor and Aswan– currently boiling at 43 degrees.
The good news is that temperatures are expected to rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius by the weekend, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s (EMA) expectations.
Nights, however, are going to be pretty cold across the country, with frost expected in northern Upper Egypt, Central Sinai, and parts of the Western Desert, where some crops thrive.
Good news for residents of northern parts of Egypt, including Greater Cairo. Starting Sunday, the first day of the four-day Eid Al-Adha, temperatures are expected to decline by a refreshing 3-4 degrees Celsius.
