CAIRO- 18 April 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad participated in a quadrilateral meeting with counterparts of Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan on Friday, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, to reviewed progress in the US-Iran negotiations and assessed the latest regional developments.

Abdelatty met wuth Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey; Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; and Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that this was the third meeting under the quadrilateral mechanism, following earlier sessions in Riyadh on March 20 and Islamabad on March 29.

Khallaf noted that discussions focused on strengthening coordination in response to rapidly evolving regional dynamics, monitoring the US-Iran negotiations, and advancing joint efforts to de-escalate tensions and restore security and stability. The ministers also addressed prospects for the regional order following the end of the current war.

He added that Minister Abdelatty underscored the importance of intensified coordination given the region’s sensitive circumstances. Abdelatty welcomed the outcomes of the first meeting of senior officials under the Quartet Mechanism, held in Islamabad on April 14, describing it as a positive step toward activating coordination frameworks and deepening cooperation among the four countries.

The ministers also exchanged assessments of the war’s significant economic repercussions on the global economy. Discussions covered mitigating impacts on international shipping, supply chains, food and energy security, and oil prices, as well as strategies to address these challenges.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the ministers agreed to maintain close coordination and consultation in the coming period and to continue supporting the success of the US-Iran negotiations, with the aim of promoting de-escalation and restoring calm, security, and stability across the region.
