Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Ahmed Khalifa returned to Egypt on Sunday after discussing military partnership and reviewing Turkish weaponry in a visit to Ankara.
The call came within the framework of regular communication between the two countries to discuss developments regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip.
The phone discussion also focused on following up the Egyptian-Qatari efforts to consolidate the ceasefire, return to the January 19 agreement, and ensure the implementation of its three phases. These phases include the release of hostages and prisoners, as well as the delivery of humanitarian, medical, and shelter aid to the Gaza Strip.
The two ministers discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. Minister Abdelatty briefed his Turkish counterpart on the outcomes of the extraordinary Arab Summit, which was hosted in Cairo on March 4. The statement also mentioned that Minister Abdelatty shared details of the Arab five-year plan for the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, alongside Egypt's efforts to consolidate the ceasefire agreement in the region and to ensure the effective implementation of its three phases.
