The international conference, inaugurated by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, had Egypt as its honorary guest. Gendi attended the event upon an official invitation.
Ambassador Suha Gendy, Minister of Immigration, said that this edition is the largest in number of attendees compared to all the previous three editions of the conference, which reflects the ministry’s efforts reaching them in all countries of the world.

For her part, Ambassador Soha Gendy, Minister of Immigration, welcomed Ambassador Sameh Abul-Enein, Consul General of Egypt in Chicago, and the states of the Central and American West, stressing that the Ministry of Immigration seeks to reach and communicate with various Egyptian communities in all countries of the world to the same extent, including the Egyptian community in the United States of America.
Egypt has adopted successful and effective policies in dealing with the illegal immigration file, in light of its keenness on abiding by international conventions, affirmed Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs Soha Gendy.
The Minister of Immigration indicated that one of the most important sessions discussed at the conference was a session on investment and remittances of Egyptians abroad and banks.
Efforts are underway to adopt executive steps by the relevant entities, she said, adding that various incentives would be provided to the Egyptian expatriates to motivate them to invest in their homeland.
The ministry immediately contacted respective authorities in Egypt and Libya to find out the circumstances of the case and managed to release the national and bring him home, the note added.
According to the minister, all efforts are meant to post Egyptians living oversees on development efforts in Egypt and listen to their proposals and answer their inquiries.
The conference will start on August 14 with the participation of Egyptian entities abroad.
Minister of Emigration Nabila Makram held earlier this month a virtual meeting with representatives of the Egyptian communities and entities abroad to discuss preparations for the third conference of Egyptian entities abroad.
The meeting dealt with the exchange of international expertise in digital technology in the fields of energy, air and land transport.
The program is the outcome of the collaboration between the Ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram and the National Academy for Training.
