CAIRO, Aug 23 - Egypt's Emigration Minister, Soha Gendi, emphasized the profound ties between Egypt and Cyprus during her speech at the international expats conference. She highlighted the "Nostos: Reviving Roots" initiative, which was introduced by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in 2017, as a testament to the strengthening relations between the two nations.

The international conference, inaugurated by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, had Egypt as its honorary guest. Gendi attended the event upon an official invitation.

Throughout the conference, several speakers expressed their gratitude towards Egypt for its significant contribution. Gendi expressed her delight in participating and mentioned that her presence at the event was in line with presidential directives aimed at bridging the gap between nations.

While in Cyprus, Minister Gendi is set to have private discussions with her Cypriot counterparts. These meetings will focus on immigration issues, concerns of expatriates, and the "Reviving Roots" presidential initiative.

Furthermore, Gendi revealed that plans are in motion for the fifth installment of the "Reviving Roots" initiative. This edition aims to enhance collaboration between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus.
