Located in Egypt's northwestern Matrouh governorate, El Dabaa is the country's first nuclear power plant. The project is being built by Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) and will be operated by Egypt's Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA).
