Spain’s King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia Make Historic Royal Visit to Luxor.
Their tour in Luxor is part of their historic trip to Egypt as the first by King Felipe and his spouse and the first by a Spanish monarch since 2008, when King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofía they visited archaeological sites in Cairo.
The four-day visit includes meetings with the Spanish community in Cairo, an official reception with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and participation in the Spanish-Egyptian Economic Forum.
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi thanked on Thursday King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain for ‘the warm welcome and generous hospitality’ he received during the visit.
The president also invited them to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity.
King Felipe VI of Spain has welcomed on Monday Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry upon his arrival to Madrid.
Abul Ghiet will hold talks with King Felipe VI during his visit to Spain on Tuesday.
