President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Saturday praised Lebanon’s efforts to extend the authority of its national institutions across the entire country, during a phone call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun arrived in Cairo on Monday for a one-day visit per an invitation from Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Lebanese counterpart, Joseph Aoun, met on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab summit held in the New Administrative Capital.
“We commend this important step that would contribute to achieving security and stability in brotherly Lebanon and restoring [the country’s] regional status that it deserves,” the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Aoun, 61, secured 99 votes from the 128-seat parliament during a second round of voting on Thursday.
