Gaza Administration Committee
In a phone interview with Extra News, Dr. Al-Namoura expressed Fatah’s deep appreciation for Egypt’s tireless efforts that facilitated the ceasefire agreement and the commencement of the Administrative Committee’s work. He noted that confidence in Egypt stems from its consistent Arab and fraternal role, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause, which was reflected in the thorough preparations and readiness to host the Committee in Cairo.
The second phase of the plan focuses on activating the Palestinian national administration in Gaza to strengthen Palestinian identity and establish a state presence. Overseen by Egypt, it aims to rebuild the Strip after two years of devastation, integrating economic and social support, infrastructure development, and protections to prevent displacement or separation from the West Bank.
Shaath revealed that the committee's first step in the rehabilitation and reconstruction plan is the urgent provision of 200,000 prefabricated housing units as an immediate and safe alternative for residents suffering harsh conditions in tents.
