Capture
The tanker, Olina, is the fifth seized by US forces since the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife in a stunning US operation early this month.
The pair landed at Stewart Air National Guard Base, north of New York City, after being transferred from Venezuela via a US naval vessel.
Cairo’s remarks come after the United States carried out an abrupt military operation across Venezuela early on Saturday, conducting strikes and capturing the Latin American country’s president and his wife.
The strikes began around 2 a.m. local time in the capital, Caracas, and lasted for roughly an hour and a half, during which residents reported loud explosions, military aircraft overhead, and plumes of smoke rising above parts of the city.
