CAIRO – 3 January 2026: Egypt’s foreign ministry said on Saturday that it is closely monitoring the situation of Egyptian nationals in Venezuela following the recent U.S. attack, stressing that the community remains safe and has not been exposed to any risks.

Cairo’s remarks come after the United States carried out an abrupt military operation across Venezuela early on Saturday, conducting strikes and capturing the Latin American country’s president and his wife.

Haddad Al-Gohary, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad, said the foreign ministry remains in constant contact with Egypt’s embassy in Caracas to monitor the situation of Egyptians in Venezuela.

He confirmed that Egyptian community is safe and have not faced any danger.

The embassy in Caracas has been instructed to maintain direct communication with Egyptian citizens, advising them to exercise caution, adhere to local laws and regulations, and contact the embassy immediately via its emergency hotline should they encounter any difficulties.

Al-Gohary added that the ministry will continue coordinating with the embassy to review any measures needed to ensure the safety of Egyptians in Venezuela.
