Israel says it launched pre-emptive strikes on Iran as explosions hit Tehran and Israel closes airspace amid retaliation fears.
“Iran would be very wise to make a deal with President Trump and with his administration,” the AFP reported, citing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt as saying.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reviewed ways to strengthen relations, welcoming the recent increase in meetings and communication between the two countries.
Abdelatty made the remarks in phone calls with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi to review the cooperation underway between Iran and IAEA regarding the country’s nuclear file.
The goal of these talks is to help pave the way for the resumption of stalled negotiations between Iran and the United States over the Iranian nuclear file. Egypt is working to bridge gaps between the involved parties, with the objective of reaching a sustainable agreement that addresses the interests of all stakeholders and fosters an environment of de-escalation, mutual trust, and regional stability.
Egypt welcomed Oman’s hosting of the first direct negotiations between the US and Iran, commending the cooperative approach demonstrated by both negotiating sides.
