Badr Abdelatty met with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar, on the sidelines of the Doha Forum. Both officials stressed the importance of continuing efforts to implement the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement in full, solidify the ceasefire, and prevent any violations.
Speaking at a Doha Forum panel on global responsibility and pathways to peace in Gaza, Abdelatty said stabilising a ceasefire remains the top priority as a necessary step toward moving to the second phase of the plan.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed his appreciation during the meeting for the important and pioneering role played by the Egyptian state in both the global and regional contexts, particularly in light of the current developments in the region.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the opening session of the Doha Forum 2024 tomorrow, Saturday, and will deliver a speech during one of the sessions on the second day of the forum.
