Al-Azhar’s call is a response to statements by several members of the Israeli government regarding the commencement of a plan to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from their land.
Their bilateral meeting convened prior to an Arab Foreign Ministers’ meeting of foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the Emirates, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, and the Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
Buses carrying protesters from various Egyptian governorates, including Port Said, Ismailia, Cairo’s Beni Suef, and the Delta's Beheira, passed through the Tahya Misr tunnels in Ismailia before heading to Rafah, which borders Gaza. The under-construction area will include parking areas for trucks, secured warehouses, administrative offices, and rest places for drivers, the governor said, noting that it has been provided with all means of living and electricity to achieve fluidity in transportation to and from it.
