CAIRO – 19 April 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call today with Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein on Saturday, addressing the regional issues and the ongoing efforts for achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
President Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Jordan and its unwavering support in confronting all forms of terrorism and extremist groups that threaten the security and stability of the Jordanian nation, said the Egyptian Presidency in a statement.
President Sisi emphasized the importance of joint cooperation to fulfill the aspirations of both peoples for a secure and stable life.
King Abdullah II expressed his appreciation for Egypt's support and praised the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between the two countries.
The call between President Sisi and King Abdullah II addressed the current situation in Palestine, with a focus on efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid.
The two leaders discussed developments in the West Bank and reaffirmed their firm rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land.
President Sisi and King Abdullah II also emphasized that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only viable path to lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
President Sisi and King Abdullah II reviewed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Jordan, and explored prospects for joint cooperation aimed at advancing mutual interests and deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
