The massacres in al-Mawasi region, the area designated as a humanitarian zone in Western Khan younis- photo from Palestinian journalists in Gaza
CAIRO – 24 March 2025: Egypt strongly condemned Israel's announcement of the establishment of an agency targeting the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and its approval of the recognition of 13 new settlements in the West Bank.
Egypt affirmed the nullity of the so-called "voluntary departure," which the Israeli side claims is targeted by this agency. Egypt emphasized that departures occurring under bombardment and war, and under policies that block humanitarian aid and use starvation as a weapon, constitute forced displacement, a crime, and a violation under international law and international humanitarian law.
Egypt called on the international community and the Security Council to adopt a firm stance against these ongoing Israeli violations and provocations, and to demonstrate the necessary seriousness and decisiveness to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy and restore the rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
