Minister of Electricity announced Tuesday, during a press conference, that the price of electricity for the domestic sector will be raised by the beginning of July 2020 by 19.1 percent.
Whoever consumes more than 650 kilowatts per month will be excluded from subsidies and will bear the actual cost of the kilowatt per hour, according to Shaker.
The rate of the new increase for the domestic sector will be 19.1 percent, down from 21 percent in 2019/2020.
The electricity minister said that the cost of the project amounted to LE 509 million, with a distance of 1,000 kilometers.
This came during Toyoda’s meeting with Egypt’s Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker.
