CAIRO- 10 June 2017: Egyptian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce will hold its annual business forum on Monday in Berlin in parallel with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s visit to Germany this week.

More than 150 German and Egyptian companies will participate in the annual German Business Forum which will be held in collaboration with the General Union of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.

A high level meeting presided by German Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Brigitte Zypries, and Egyptian Minister of Industry and Commerce Tarek Kabil will be held during the conference to discuss economic cooperation opportunities between both countries as well as prospective dual projects.

Last week, Kabil said in press statement that the forum would enhance the cooperation between Egypt and Germany, as well as, increase Egyptian-German projects that serve the interest of both countries and economies alike.

The Egyptian president is set to head to Berlin Sunday, three months after Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to Cairo. During her visit, Merkel inaugurated the first phase of the German Siemens power plant megaproject.

Sisi met with Merkel in May 2015 during his first official visit to Germany since assuming the presidency in 2014. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties.
