CAIRO – 21 June 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that Egypt would continue working with Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Türkiye and other Arab and regional states to support implementation of the recently agreed US-Iran memorandum of understanding (MoU).
During a meeting in Cairo with the foreign ministers of Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye on Sunday, El-Sisi also emphasized joint regional work to advance efforts toward a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, according to the Presidency.
He described the settlement of the Palestinian cause as a prerequisite for achieving sustainable and comprehensive stability in the region.
Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met in Cairo for the fourth meeting of the four-country consultative mechanism.
El-Sisi welcomed the US-Iran MoU and stressed the need for continued joint efforts to implement it and advance negotiations between the two sides toward a comprehensive, sustainable final agreement.
He said any final agreement must ensure the security of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and other Arab countries and take their concerns into account. These include respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity, adherence to the principles of good-neighbourliness, freedom of navigation and the peaceful resolution of disputes.
The president praised Pakistan's role in helping bridge differences between the two sides and bring their positions closer together.
The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye welcomed their meeting with El-Sisi, saying it reaffirms Egypt's commitment to promoting regional and international peace and stability.
El-Sisi welcomed the convening of the fourth meeting of the quadrilateral grouping, saying recent regional developments have underscored the importance of the four countries as key pillars of regional security and stability.
The president highlighted the need to maintain and further develop this consultative mechanism into an effective institutional framework capable of helping address the region's crises.
He also praised the close coordination among the four countries recently.
The ministers welcomed the constructive talks during their fourth meeting and also underlined the importance of developing coordination among the four countries into an effective institutionalized framework.
