CAIRO – 5 November 2025: During his historic visit to Egypt, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov expressed admiration for the country’s rich heritage and ambitious development vision, emphasizing the readiness of Kyrgyzstan to build a sustainable partnership with Egypt.

Speaking at a joint economic roundtable in Cairo, attended by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, ministers, senior officials, and business leaders from both countries, President Japarov highlighted the significance of his visit.

“Since Kyrgyzstan’s independence, no president of our republic has made an official visit to Africa,” he said. “I consider my visit to Egypt a historic step and I am pleased to begin my tour of this promising continent here.”

World’s Largest Museum for Single Civilization

Reflecting on his visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum the previous day, he stated: “It confirmed to me that Egypt is truly the cradle of human civilization and home to the greatest and most ancient cultural heritage in history.

He extended his warmest congratulations on the official opening of this magnificent cultural landmark, which “immortalizes Egypt’s historic greatness and human creativity through the ages.”

Deepening Bilateral Relations

Zhaparov underlined Kyrgyzstan’s intent to deepen bilateral relations across all fields of cooperation through several key agreements covering the economy, agriculture, investment, energy, healthcare, and security.

“I am confident these steps will elevate our relations to a new qualitative level, serving the interests of both our countries and peoples,” he said.

The Kyrgyz leader also praised Egypt’s Vision 2030 development strategy, noting its remarkable achievements, particularly in the economic sphere.

Among the agreements to be signed, Zhaparov highlighted a deal for the creation of a joint government committee to enhance commercial, economic, scientific, and technological cooperation. He proposed the committee’s first meeting to be in Bishkek to discuss concrete steps for collaboration.

He also emphasized mutual interest in expanding cooperation on tourism, knowledge exchange, joint projects, and Islamic banking services in Kyrgyzstan.

Continental Linkage Via Suez Canal

Zhaparov outlined Kyrgyzstan’s strategic geographic position bordering China, its active border points, and the ongoing China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project.

He noted that linking this railway to the international rail network, in integration with trade routes via the Suez Canal, will open new corridors connecting Central Asia with China, Africa, and Europe.

On digital transformation, Zhaparov stated: “Kyrgyzstan is taking serious steps toward digitalization, developing the virtual assets sector, and establishing a national cryptocurrency market.”

He noted a national council under his supervision has been created to regulate safe digital currency use.

Soon, Kyrgyzstan will launch its stablecoin, KGST, and establish a national reserve of crypto assets, the Kyrgyz leader said, encouraging Egyptian entrepreneurs to collaborate in this promising field.

According to the international Chainalysis index, Kyrgyzstan ranks 19th globally in cryptocurrency adoption, reflecting its growing leadership in the sector.
