CAIRO – 2 November 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and First Lady Entissar El-Sisi accompanied world leaders and dignitaries on an exclusive tour inside the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), a journey through thousands of years of history.

The journey unfolded after the inauguration of the museum in a grand ceremony attended by nearly 80 official delegations, including 39 led by kings, princes, and heads of state and government.

GEM stands as the largest museum in the world dedicated to a single cifvilization: the everlasting civilization of Egypt.

It houses over 57,000 artifacts, including the complete treasures of King Tutankhamun, displayed together for the first time since the discovery of his tomb in 1922.

The tour began at the colossal statue of Ramses II, which greets visitors at the museum’s grand entrance, before ascending the museum’s monumental staircase.

The Grand Staircase rises the equivalent of six floors, adorned with dozens of statues that reflect the enduring grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization.

The guests also took a close look at the treasures of King Tutankhamun.

The Ramses II statue bid farewell to the visiting dignitaries, now awaiting more visitors from around the world in the coming days.

The museum showcases the history of ancient Egypt from 700,000 BC to 394 AD, uniting thousands of years of heritage under one roof.

GEM is expected to attract around five million visitors annually, cementing its place as a global beacon of culture, heritage, and sustainable museum design.

During the inauguration, El-Sisi described GEM as “a living embodiment of the journey of a people who have inhabited the land of the Nile since the dawn of history.”

He affirmed that GEM is “not merely a place to preserve precious antiquities, but a living testament to the genius of the Egyptian people, the builders of the pyramids, who carved the story of eternity upon stone.”
