El-Sisi welcomed Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed at Alamain International Airport on Sunday during a fraternal visit, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement.

“The latest episode in this conflict... has degenerated into an unbearable humanitarian crisis, the unspeakable suffering of hundreds of thousands of innocent people and the total devastation of Gaza,” the monarch said, according to the AFP.
The visit came as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the close ties between the two nations’ leaderships and to affirm the importance of continued consultation and coordination in support of the interests of both peoples as well as the stability and security of the region.
“We have arrived in Egypt accompanied by Egyptian Rafale jets. We are proud of this, as it symbolizes strong strategic cooperation between us.”
On Tuesday, Macron plans to travel to Arish city in North Sinai, 50 km from Gaza, to highlight concerns over the ongoing war.
Macron is scheduled to arrive in Egypt on Sunday for a visit aimed at encouraging a ceasefire in Gaza and enhancing various aspects of Egypt-French relations.
Her visit comes in light of the ongoing discussions on EU macro-financial assistance and the geopolitical situation in the Middle East and the neighboring region.
