Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Admiral Osama Rabie stated Wednesday that the tugboats had successfully handled the technical issues experienced by two tankers during their navigation in the waterway.
A crew member died and six others were rescued as a Suez Canal tugboat sank in the waterway on Saturday after colliding with a giant tanker, said Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Chairman Osama Rabie in TV remarks.
Tugboat “Fahd” sank after the Hong Kong-flagged CHINAGAS LEGEND tanker collided with it at the 51 km point of the Suez Canal during its transit as part of the South convoy [ from the southern entrance of the canal to the north] on its journey from Singapore to the United States of America.
Its dimensions are 247-meter overall length, 48-meter beam, and a tonnage of 82,000 tons.

The dredger that will be delivered Friday is dubbed "Mohab Mamish," and that to arrive in summer is called "Hussein Tantawy."
