The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip has risen to 256 people, including 20 children, and 1,788 citizens with various injuries, announced the Palestinian Embassy in Cairo. Meanwhile, the ongoing escalation led to the death of 600 Israelis and the injury of 2,000 others.
The situation escalated between the two sides when a group of Palestinian militants stormed Israeli settlements and captured a number of Israeli soldiers and settlers.
“The current year witnessed the largest number of Palestinian martyrs, exceeding 200 martyrs,” the statement read, noting that these acts would escalate violence and bloodshed and deteriorate the consequences.
