CAIRO – 9 December 2022: Egypt expressed its deep concern over the increasing acts of violence against the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, the latest of which was killing of 3 Palestinians by Israelis in the city of Jenin, the West Bank, at dawn on Thursday, said the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The current year witnessed the largest number of Palestinian martyrs, exceeding 200 martyrs,” the statement read, noting that these acts would escalate violence and bloodshed and deteriorate the consequences.

Egypt warned against the dangerous repercussions of the continuation of the current escalation on the efforts exerted to try to revive the peace process, the statement continued.

Egypt called on the international community to bear their responsibilities towards calming down the situation, not to tolerate the growing escalation or extremism that leads to violence, and to encourage the parties to break the current stalemate in the peace process.
