Member states also called upon national, sub-national, and local authorities, as well as regional actors and initiatives, to integrate the objectives of the MSSD 2026–2035 into their development plans.
According to the Ministry, the campaign aims to reduce waste pollution, particularly single-use plastics, and to raise public awareness of the environmental and health risks these materials pose to marine ecosystems.
