Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and US President Donald Trump will co-chair a global summit in Sharm El-Sheikh at noon on Monday aimed at ending the war in Gaza, the Egyptian Presidency announced.
During a phone call with Cypriot counterpart Nikos Christodoulide, President Sisi also reaffirmed the importance of deploying international forces in the Gaza Strip.
The announcement came after Tel Aviv and Hamas agreed on a ceasefire agreement and a prisoner swap deal after intensive talks in Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh city.
Following his arrival, Trump is expected to proceed directly to the Knesset in Jerusalem to deliver an address.
