CAIRO – 10 October 2025: US President Donald Trump is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Monday morning for a brief official visit, according to a report by Israel’s Channel 12 television network, after his peace plan for Gaza was signed off by both Tel Aviv and Hamas.

Following his arrival, Trump is expected to proceed directly to the Knesset in Jerusalem to deliver an address.

Channel 12 said the visit will be brief, with the U.S. president departing shortly after his speech at the Israeli parliament.

The agreement agreed upon by Israel and Hamas followed intensive talks in Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh city, in the presence of US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, and intelligence chiefs of Egypt and Turkey.

It forms the first phase of Trump’s proposed peace plan aimed at ending the two-year war.

Under the agreement, Israeli forces have begun withdrawing to a designated line in Gaza within 24 hours, paving the way for Hamas to release dozens of Israeli captives, both living and deceased, within the following 72 hours.

It remains uncertain whether Trump will extend his regional tour to Egypt.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi publicly invited him on Wednesday to attend a ceremony celebrating the signing of the Gaza agreement.

During a phone call between the two leaders on Thursday, Sisi reiterated his invitation, describing the accord as a “historic achievement” that crowns the joint mediation efforts of Egypt, the United States, and regional partners.

According to a statement from the Egyptian Presidency, Trump welcomed the invitation and expressed his pleasure to visit Egypt, especially since it is a country he holds in great esteem.
