Naval Blockade
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has drawn up plans for a “short and powerful” wave of strikes on Iran aimed at breaking the current impasse, three sources told Axios.
US President Donald Trump has rejected an Iranian proposal on reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, lifting the naval blockade on its ports, and ending the war, while delaying nuclear talks, according to US media.
Trump told ABC News the coming days could prove decisive, suggesting a deal may be within reach and downplaying the need to extend a ceasefire set to expire on April 21.
“The American enemy, with its military might and brutal aggression, has failed to break this blockade,” Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree declared in a televised speech on Friday.
