Hamas said in a statement that the delegation will hold talks with “the Egyptian leadership” and has already started meetings with Gaza peace mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey.
Al-Hayya said Hamas has “no desire or interest” in keeping the bodies of captives in Gaza.
Head of Hamas negotiating delegation, Khalil al-Hayya, said to al Qahera news channel that he appreciates the efforts made by Islamic and Arab countries, as well as US President Donald Trump, to permanently end the war.
"There is a rogue actor engaging in constant political thuggery in this region and violating the sovereignty of its states."
He slammed the “impossible conditions” set by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in response to a recent ceasefire proposal by the mediators, reiterating rejection of Tel Aviv's demand for the group to disarm.
The ceasefire in Gaza, brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the United States, is currently at stake with Israel threatening to resume “intense fighting” if Hamas does not release Israeli captives on Saturday, as scheduled under the agreement.
Hamas said in a statement on Wednesday that the meetings, which already commenced, will follow up on the ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement through the dedicated technical committees and the mediators.

A delegation from Hamas is scheduled to visit Cairo on Monday to deliver the movement's response to Egyptian and Qatari mediators regarding a recent ceasefire proposal in Gaza, along with a proposed prisoner swap deal.
A Hamas delegation, led by Deputy Chief Khalil Al-Hayya, is set to travel to Cairo on Sunday for a new round of ceasefire negotiations.
