Deescalation
On Saturday, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad Dr. Badr Abdelatty, and Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held a telephone conversation.
During the call, Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s unequivocal rejection of any violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, or territorial integrity. He underscored the need to reduce tensions and prioritize de-escalation to preserve the security and stability of Lebanon and the broader region.
Egypt also rejected its continued expansion of settlement in the Palestinian territories and the backtracking from the peace process based on the two-state solution, which enjoys regional and international support.
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron will hold a summit in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip.
