CAIRO – 8 November 2025: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs Dr. Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation today with Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam to discuss recent developments in southern Lebanon and ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and restore calm.
During the call, Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s unequivocal rejection of any violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, or territorial integrity. He underscored the need to reduce tensions and prioritize de-escalation to preserve the security and stability of Lebanon and the broader region.
Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s steadfast position in support of Lebanon’s sovereignty, national unity, and independent decision-making. He emphasized the importance of extending the Lebanese state’s authority across all its territory and expressed Egypt’s continued support for Lebanon’s national institutions, enabling them to fulfill their responsibilities in maintaining stability and security.
The Minister further stressed Egypt’s commitment to assisting Lebanon in overcoming current challenges and safeguarding the interests of the brotherly Lebanese people.
