CAIRO- 1 September 2025: Egypt condemned the continued expansion of Israeli military aggression in Gaza, saying that the Israeli lack of response to the ceasefire deal proposed by Egypt and Qatar reflects the complete absence of the Israeli will to de-escalate and restore calm and peace

In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that Egypt also condemned the persistence in violating international humanitarian law, in full contradiction with the international community’s aspiration to bring an end to the war in the Gaza Strip and to the escalation it has caused in the region.

Cairo affirmed that Israel's lack of response so far to the deal proposed by Egypt and Qatar, within the framework of efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, reflects the complete absence of the Israeli will to de-escalate and restore calm and peace. Instead, it demonstrates clear intentions to persist in its aggression against innocent civilians in Gaza. This aggression threatens to further exacerbate the dire humanitarian consequences, particularly in light of the starvation policies and blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation against defenseless civilians in the Strip.

Egypt categorically rejected this aggressive Israeli approach, which has led to a worsening of the situation in the region and placed it on a collision course that warns of further escalation and conflict, as a result of Israel’s disregard for the intensive efforts exerted to de-escalate and end the war in Gaza.

Egypt also rejected its continued expansion of settlement in the Palestinian territories and the backtracking from the peace process based on the two-state solution, which enjoys regional and international support.

AP reported that Israel plans to halt or slow the entry of the humanitarian aid to the northern part of the besieged Gaza Strip as it plans to displace the residents of the north towards the southern part.

On August 28, the UN Secretary-General Antonion Guterres said: “Israel’s initial steps to militarily take over Gaza City signals a new and dangerous phase. Expanded military operations in Gaza City will have devastating consequences.”

The death toll from the Israeli aggression on Gaza has risen to 63,557 Palestinian martyrs and 160,660 injuries since October 7, 2023, after hospitals received 98 martyrs and 404 injuries over the past 24 hours, said the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza on Monday.

Several victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them at this time, the Ministry added in a statement on Saturday.

After a two-month truce, Israel resumed its genocidal war since March 18, 2025 and has killed 11,426 martyrs and 48,619 injuries.

As for those who were killed by Israeli forces at the aid distribution centers, 46 people were killed and 239 were injured over the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll at the aid centers to 2,294 martyrs and more than 16,839 injuries since May 27, 2025.

Also, over the past 24 hours, Gaza Strip hospitals recorded 9 new deaths due to starvation and malnutrition, including 3 children, bringing the total number of deaths to 348, including 127 children.
