The two leaders emphasized the need to build on the resolution to solidify the ceasefire, ensure the flow of humanitarian aid, and lay the groundwork for the swift start of reconstruction efforts.
"Today, to revive the hope of peace and a two-state solution, I state clearly - as prime minister of this great country - that the United Kingdom formally recognises the state of Palestine," Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced in a video statement, according to BBC.
The UK government described this commitment as “a significant milestone,” allowing both the Egyptian and British governments to strengthen their collaboration in key priority areas.
