CAIRO – 19 November 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged building on the momentum generated by the resolution adopted by the UN Security Council resolution regarding Gaza on Monday.

During a phone call on Tuesday, the two leaders emphasized the need to build on the resolution to solidify the ceasefire, ensure the flow of humanitarian aid, and lay the groundwork for the swift start of reconstruction efforts.

Starmer stressed the urgency of delivering sufficient humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza and called for all necessary measures to expand aid access, including encouraging more international humanitarian relief organizations to operate toward this goal.

The UN Security Council on Monday adopted Resolution 2803/2025 endorsing a peace plan for Gaza proposed by US President Donald Trump.

The resolution, passed with 13 votes in favor, while permanent members China and Russia abstained, authorizes a temporary international force in the enclave.

It also endorses the creation of a Board of Peace (BoP) as a transitional administration in Gaza to oversee reconstruction efforts.

Under the resolution, the BoP is empowered to establish a temporary "International Stabilization Force (ISF)", which will operate under a unified command approved by the board.
