During his meeting with Chinese Ambassador in Cairo Liao Liqiang, the minister expressed his ministry's keenness on enhancing cooperation with Egypt in the research, development and innovation of anti-virals, vaccines and serums.
Ministry spokesman Dr Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, in a statement on facebook, said citizens are rather advised to take both jabs.
Abdel Ghaffar said that medical teams have been formed nationwide to deal with any contingencies that may occur during the vacation.
In a phone call with Egyptian channel 1, Abdel Ghaffar said Egypt is among few states that conduct hearing screening for all newborns whether Egyptians or from other nationalities.
The pandemic has spilled over into many Arab countries, Abdel Ghaffar acknowledged, pressing for further effort to undo the harm, especially as the humanitarian conditions continue to aggravate due to ongoing conflicts and wars.
He said the state is committed to establishing a comprehensive health insurance system to ensure that all people get their right in integrated health care under the international quality standards.
He further noted that people under the age of 65 should receive a booster dose at least six months after their second dose.
