CAIRO-11 February 2021: Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane announced Al Ahly’s starting line-up for the FIFA Club World Cup third-place playoff against Brazil’s Palmeiras.

Al Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim will start instead of Ali Maaloul, who was forced to leave the pitch against Bayern Munich due to injury.

Yasser will start in defense alongside Badr Benoun while Ayman Ashraf will move to the left back position.

Al Ahly’s starting line-up for the match: Mohamed El Shenawy, Yasser Ibrahim, Badr Benoun, Ayman Ashraf, Mohamed Hany, Akram Tawfik, Hamdy Fathy, Amr El Solia, Taher Mohamed Taher, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, and Walter Bwalya.

Al Ahly will compete in the bronze medal match after losing 2-0 to Bayern Munich on Monday.

Al Ahly will miss the efforts of their wingers, Mahmoud Kahraba and Hussein El Shahaat, in the match as the Organizing Committee of the competition decided to ban them after violating COVID-19 measures as both players had direct contact with Al Ahly fans after the match against Bayern Munich.

The African champions will appear in the third-place playoff for the third time in history, having won the game in 2006 while they lost to Mexico’s Monterrey in 2012.

The game starts on 5:00 PM.
