CAIRO, 31 March 2019: The Derby has plunged into water on Saturday night due to the heavy rains hit Borg El Arab stadium to end the game with a goalless draw.

Al Ahly and Zamalek failed to score any goals in the Derby when they played a postponed game from the 17th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Zamalek remained on the top with 54 points while Al Ahly came second with 52 points to continue their tough competition.

Al Ahly’s consecutive victories stopped as the Red devils succeeded to win nine games in a row.

The pitch condition was very bad as it was full of water on the two flanks which forced the players to play most of the 90 minutes around the center of the ground. The right flank was the worst part of the pitch which made the players slip a lot.

Both teams performance was poor due to the pitch condition; but each team had a dangerous chance which would change the score.

Al Ahly’s chance was at the 45th minute of the first half when Ramadan Sobhy ran on the right flank sending a cross to Nasser Maher who failed to put the ball in the empty net.

Zamalek’s chance was through young Moroccan player, Hamid Ahdad, who also failed to put the ball in Al Ahly’s empty net.
