CAIRO – 23 December 2017: Barcelona striker Luis Suarez excluded Real Madrid from the Spanish League title race after he participated in Barcelona’s 3-0 away victory over Real Madrid on Saturday. Suarez believes that Valencia and Atletico Madrid will be their rivals for the title.

“We're 14 points clear of Real Madrid having played a game more. We have rivals like Valencia and Atletico who are pushing us in La Liga,” Suarez told the press after the game.

Barcelona leads the Spanish League table with 45 points and they are 9 points ahead of the second placed, Atletico Madrid and 10 points ahead of the third placed Valencia who still have a game against Villareal.

Suarez opened the score for Barcelona at the 55th minute and nine minutes later Lionel Messi doubled the score through a penalty. Messi provided an assist to Alex Vidal to score the third goal seconds before the final whistle.

Suarez spoke about his goal in the game, he said: “It's always important to score, it helps me a lot from a personal perspective. However, what is valued most is the work we do as a collective.”

Suarez has an amazing record against Real Madrid scoring five goals in nine games.
