CAIRO – 7 November 2017: Robert Lewandowski has managed to surpass his rival, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, in the battle of Bundesliga's top scorer this season.

Despite making it clear last Saturday by scoring a goal in the clash between Dortmund and Bayern (1-3), Bayern’s striker wanted to support Aubameyang so that he can break his “not scoring streak” and return to take the best way.

Last season, the Gabonese striker narrowly defeated Lewandowski and became Germany's top scorer with a total of 31 goals, one more than the Polish player.

However, luck is no longer on the side of Aubameyang, who has been in the last five games without igniting a spark and has wasted 476 minutes in all competitions without scoring any goal for Dortmund.

"We all went through these phases, and the work of the scorer is the toughest in the field,” Lewandowski said on Tuesday to the German newspaper Bild.

Bayern’s player supported his rival, saying, "When you're on a good run, the goals go in alone, but sometimes something does not work and you cannot get the ball into the net, but it's important to clear up and recover the ease – I'm sure he will be successful again soon."

After scoring against Dortmund, Lewandowski has 11 goals so far this season, one more than the Gabonese player.

Aubameyang's bad luck during the match allowed Jupp Heynckes' men to defend the leadership in the Bundesliga and to be ahead Dortmund by six points.
