CAIRO – 12 July 2017: Juventus FC announced Tuesday the signing of Brazilian winger Douglas Costa on an initial £5 million year-long loan. He is a former winger for Bayern Munich. Next summer Juventus will have a £35 million obligation to buy him.

Juventus FC announced the new deal for the 26-year-old winger on the club's official Twitter account Tuesday night.

“Douglas Costa is currently undergoing a routine physical ahead of the proposed transfer from Bayern Munich,” stated the club’s website.

The Brazilian winger made 77 appearances with Bayern Munich during his two years of playing. He netted nine goals in total and made eight assists last season, according to TransferMarkt.

Costa became one of several players transferring between Juventus and Bayern Munich. There are several other players that were traded, including Mehdi Benatia, Kingsley Coman, Arturo Vidal and Hasan Salihamidžić.

After two years of playing for the Brazilian team Grêmio, Costa joined Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine for five years. Finally, he ended up wearing Bayern Munich’s colors in 2015.
