Cairo – 19 October 2017: Fitness has been a trend, taking over social media for quite some time now; however, it might be intimidating for someone new trying to get on board.

Following a healthy lifestyle is not the easiest thing to do; it is a major change. The key is to take it slow, implementing one healthier habit at a time.

For example, trying to walk for five minutes a day around the block or on a treadmill might not seem like a big change, but it is; you are gradually building stamina. You do not want to freak out your muscles by suddenly walking 10 kilometers.

You can gradually increase the time of your walk until you get the hang of it; then start jogging for a minute daily. Slowly but surely, that will take you to running up to 20-30 minutes a day with no problem. It is worth mentioning that you should land on the balls of your feet while running, in order to avoid injury.

If you are not someone who loves the outdoors, the gym might be your next best option. Since it might be a scary place to someone who has never been inside or does not have a fitness buddy, it is important to start with the simple machines, spending only 30 minutes in the gym. Then, slowly you will get to know how every machine works and what it does to your body.

It is important to know that you should not incorporate weights until your form is on point to make sure that you get the most out of your exercise and avoid injuries.

Always remember that if you take your time to learn what you are doing and decide what is best for your body, you will be committed to your workout rather than forced to do it.

Thanks to YouTube, there is a solution for people who do not like going to the gym, or the outdoors kills their motivation; they can just get out of bed and follow a short 10-15 minute workout video. "Blogilates" has tons of short videos that target various muscle groups on her channel.

We should remind ourselves whenever we get tired that our fitness journey is not a sprint to the finish line, but a walk to it with many hurdles on the way.
