CAIRO –8 June 2017: Renowned Saudi Arabian singer Mohamed Abdou was supposed to perform a concert in Doha, the capital city of Qatar, on August 18, but the concert has been officially cancelled on Wednesday after, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain announced cutting diplomatic ties with Qatar.

Details of the concert were announced in a press conference on May 23 as Abdou was supposed to present 16 different songs of his most famous musical works, which are hugely popular throughout the Arab world.

Qatar has been the target of a diplomatic and economic embargo by several Arab and Gulf states for its alleged support of terrorist organizations. Countries such as Egypt accuse Qatar of using its media outlets to push a Qatari agenda.
